Education plays a key role in every human being’s life. It provides the foundation for an independent and self-determined life. At the same time, education is not limited to the school years, but spans across an entire lifetime. There is no age restriction to learning, which is why the mmf perceives education as “lifelong learning”. The mmf is actively involved to ensure that education is available for all. This is the only way that our society can grow further and cope with current challenges. We need an education system that helps young people to grow into responsible citizens, who can actively co-create the economic and societal development of Switzerland.
“Talent has no gender.” To embed this motto firmly in the working world, women and men, as well as business, politics and society have to work together as one. Only in a joint effort, a framework can be created, in which employees are not forced to choose between career and family and in which all talents, regardless of gender, have the same opportunity for advancement. Once the playing-field is leveled, everyone profits: The state, society, economy and finally, all of us as individuals.
The Mass-Immigration-Initiative is still a topic in Swiss politics and at Europe’s borders, refugees from hot spots all over the world hope to enter a safe haven. The continuously growing global mobility is a subject that will be matter of discussion for times to come. We are convinced that with its direct democracy, active citizenship and innovative capacity, Switzerland has all means to find bold answers to difficult questions. We are also certain that Switzerland can maintain one of the highest levels of living. Therefore, the mmf advocates an economy that values openness over isolation, freedom over regulation in excess and innovation over stagnation.
