Data Protection Policy
The Müller-Möhl Foundation (‘mmf’ or ‘we’) collects your Personal Data in an internal database. Your Personal Data is managed in accordance with the provisions of the Swiss Data Protection Act (‘DPA’) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) as amended from time to time (collectively ‘legal regulation’).
This Data Protection Policy describes how we handle your personal data.
1. What Personal Data do we collect?
‘Personal Data’ is information that we receive from you or that we as mmf can associate with you in some other way. The Personal Data in our system includes information such as form of address, title, surname(s) and first name(s), professional position, marital status, date of birth, language(s), business and/or private postal address(es), business and/or private e-mail address(es), telephone and fax number(s), website(s), type of organisation, professional background, information on mandates in administrative, foundation and advisory boards, information on related parties, and type of relationship with mmf or Carolina Müller-Möhl.
2. How do we collect your Personal Data?
We collect Personal Data that you have voluntarily provided to us, for example when you (i) communicate with us via e-mail or other communication channels, (ii) contact us personally, (iii) or ask us to send you messages, newsletters, invitations or other information.
Please note that your explicit consent is required for newsletters and invitations sent electronically (opt-in).
At the beginning of our communication, we will inform you of this intention and refer you to the Data Protection Policy. If you do not object, we will record you as a contact.
We also place cookies on your computer or device. Please refer to our Cookie Policy in this regard.
3. Why do we collect and process your Personal Data?
We collect and process your Personal Data so that we can contact you directly and inform you about our activities in a targeted manner (e.g. by telephone, e-mail, post). This requires an up-to-date database.
4. On what legal basis do we process your Personal Data?
As explained above, we process your Personal Data for communication purposes. We base this on our legitimate interests to stay in contact with you and to communicate with you in order to keep you informed about mmf activities and events. We assume that our legitimate interests are in line with the regulation and your rights.
5. Where is your Personal Data stored? And to whom is your Personal Data passed on?
The mmf is a foundation under Swiss law. All your Personal Data is processed in Switzerland and stored on our server in Switzerland.
We only outsource the processing of your Personal Data to third parties in very few cases and in compliance with legal requirements. These third parties are agencies, printing companies, charitable foundations and associations, concert organisers and media companies. They are all located in Switzerland.
Before such a data transfer is carried out, we conclude a data processing contract with each partner, which ensures that third parties only process or use the Personal Data as allowed in this Data Protection Policy under point 2.
6. How long do we store your Personal Data?
Your Personal Data will be kept for as long as you are a contact person of mmf. You can have yourself or a deceased relative deleted from our database at any time.
7. Data Security
mmf has taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your Personal Data against loss and unauthorised access.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to whom we have disclosed it, and you may request a copy of it. You also have the right to request that incorrect Personal Data about you be corrected or that your data not be passed on to third parties.
You also have the right to unsubscribe from mailing lists for invitations, newsletters and New Year’s mail at any time.
You can ask us to delete some or all of your Personal Data at any time. Please note that restricting your personal information may mean that we can no longer contact you effectively. If you choose to opt out completely, we will not be able to contact you at all.
You also have the right to receive your Personal Data by e-mail and to transmit it to a third party. If you do not agree with our data processing, you can report this to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) and/or the relevant EU supervisory authorities.
9. How can you contact us?
If you have any questions about how we process your Personal Data, please contact us via e-mail@mm-foundation.org.
