Sabine Basler

Dr Sabine Basler has more than 14 years of management experience in the private, public and NGO sectors. She has led in co-leadership and sole responsibility; in organisations with professional, volunteer and honorary staff.

Together with her team, Sabine Basler manages the activities of the MMF, which focuses on reconciling work and family life in Switzerland. The taskforce4women was created in 2019 to make this focus visible. The taskforce’s mission is to make scientific findings available, promote the visibility of women and advance gender equality through targeted measures and projects in the areas of business, politics, society, culture, media and science.

After two years as a consultant at Zurich Insurance, Sabine Basler worked for 16 years as a public health expert in the field of communicable diseases for the Swiss government. She then spent 4 years as managing director of the national association Tel 143 – Die Dargebotene Hand, focusing on mental health.

As a mother of two daughters and a woman with leadership aspirations, gender equality is an issue that has occupied her throughout her life. Today, Sabine Basler is an ambassador for WeShare1, an organisation that promotes co-leadership as an opportunity. She also offers mentoring to any woman planning a challenging application.

Sabine Basler studied molecular and cell biology at ETH Zurich and obtained a teaching qualification in biology for secondary schools. She has a PhD in virology and holds certificates in communication, self-management and business administration. Having grown up in an international environment, she is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
